The treatment can be carried out by chemical, physical or biological means:

· Chemical treatment occurs by adding various chemicals in the mixing unit after passing through the waste water sedimentation tank and precipitation of these chemicals by reacting with the contaminants in the water.

· Biological treatment is carried out with the help of various bacteria in domestic or industrial wastewater and by biodegradation of wastes from package treatment.

· Physical treatment is the physical removal of oil and coarse wastes from waste water by means of grating, oil scraper pallets and similar devices by mechanical processes without using any chemicals or bacteria.
